4-H of Halifax County Cooperative Extension is committed to engaging youth ages 5-19 in educational programs that will help them develop positive life skills. 4-H provides youth with hands on learning experiences and most of all, the participants have fun while learning. 4-H volunteers play a vital role in the development and implementation of 4-H programs.

A variety of educational programs have been designed and implemented to reach the youth of Halifax County. These programs include training such as "What Exactly are My Duties as an Officer?", and "Maintaining Order During Meetings". Through involvement with 4-H, youth learn how to recycle properly, the importance of being a team player, the meaning of positive attitudes, how to care for and share with others, and how to establish and maintain adult/youth partnerships.
