Horse’n Around the 4-H Way

The 4-H Horse Program offers LOTS of ways youth can become involved in 4-H with their horses or just have kids who love horses involved in 4-H as well. Below is a list of the kinds of projects 4-H offers horse lovers:

Hippology Contest – test your knowledge of horses in many ways, including horse judging, a written test, and identifications

Horse Bowl – want to see how much you AND your friends know about horses? Test your knowledge Jeopardy style with this team quiz bowl!

Horse Judging – think you know different breeds and riding styles? Participate in the Horse Judging Contest to see what you know!

Horse Show – Ride in the District 4-H Horse Show and compete to qualify for the State 4-H Horse Show in Hunter/Jumper, Western Pleasure, Working Western, Non-Trotting, Saddleseat, and/or Gaming

Artistic Expressions – Show how much you love horses through photography, painting, drawing, creative writing, essays, and/or crafts

Horse Project – learn as much as you can through the 4-H Horse Project and complete a 4-H Horse Record Book
