Image of Colby Lambert in a wooded area.Colby Lambert has been working with North Carolina Cooperative Extension for over 19 years, 5 of which have been as an Area Specialized Agent in Forestry. He serves 33 eastern North Carolina counties and is currently stationed in Harnett County. Colby works with county agents to provide training in forestry programming and technical assistance for landowners on forest management issues. He is a Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters and a North Carolina Registered Forester. He also serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Tree Farm Program and as Vice President for Education and Outreach for the NC Tree Farm Program. Colby’s efforts and work with colleagues and other agencies across the state have impacted thousands of acres of private and public forest land to help North Carolinians improve and sustain forestry for the future.

It is not surprising he was given the great recognition of the Distinguished Service Award. This award, from the National Association of County Certified Agents, is “to encourage and recognize excellence in the field of professional Extension for members with more than ten years of service.” Winners must have conducted outstanding work, see improvement of the Cooperative Extension profession, and meet NACAA’s further requirements. Learn more about this award and its requirements on the NACAA Distinguished Service Award page.

Congratulations, Colby!
