Soybean Variety Data

Variety Selection Tool

Example Reports from Variety Selection Tool

Linked below are examples of the type of data and reports that can be generated from the new variety selection tool. Using criteria from growers and extension agents in 6 of the counties we tested in for 2020, we have generated these reports to show the power of the variety selection tool and the depth of data that can be accessed in a short period of time. These are NOT to be used as a general recommendation for each county, only as an example of what can be pull from the tool. If you are interested in a similar report for your operation, please contact either your local Extension agent or the OVT (Ryan Heiniger, rwheinig@ncsu.edu, 919-389-8860). In early  2021, we will be offering training on how to use the variety selection tool to generate similar reports.

NOTE:  Starting in 2020, we are moving all reported OVT data for soybeans to our new variety selection tool instead of reporting individual tables. You will find looking at the data and comparing varieties a lot easier using this tool once you get used to the new features. The tool itself is linked above, and we have included links to tutorial videos showing how to use the different features of the tool. If you typically look at our location, statewide, and 2 or 3-year tables; we recommend you begin with the “Analytics” feature after watching the introduction video. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 919-389-8860 or rwheinig@ncsu.edu.
