Pesticide Container Recylcing

The NCDA&CS Pesticide Container Recycling Program funds efforts to foster public health and safety, environmental protection, and resource conservation by enabling North Carolina farmers and commercial applicators to participate in the recycling of plastic pesticide containers by transporting their clean, triple-rinsed empty pesticide containers to collection sites.

Three steps must be completed for the used jugs to be accepted. Jugs that are not proper will be rejected and excessive rejects can result in the termination of the program in the county.
  1. Remove the cap and discard in the trash
  2. Triple Rinse the jug to removal ALL residue
  3. Remove the paper label.
We have several sites in the county that collect jugs. Please visit this link for an up to date map with all locations.
