Halifax County 4-H Youth Development Programs Offer a Vast Variety of Hands-On Learning Experiences, Equipping your Youth with Skills for Future Success!
Here are just some of the fun 4-H activities that we do YEAR-ROUND!!!
NC State 4-H Horse Judging, Hippology & Horse Bowl Contests– train with our Livestock Agent locally, with opportunities to compete at the state level.
Halifax County Annual 4-H Achievement Night Celebration – Families & community leaders honor 4-H’ers’ achievements.
NC State 4-H Youth Market Turkey Show– 4-H youth raise a turkey developing animal husbandry & showmanship skills.
Countywide 4-H Youth Council Meetings w/Learning Fun, Food & Fellowship. All welcome. Quarterly meetings.
Halifax County 4-H Volunteers Association Meetings Making the Best Better by building up one another, our 4-H youth & community! All welcome. Quarterly meetings.
Northeast District 4-H Teen Retreat– 4-H Teens make new friends while engaging in fun 4-H workshops.
Eastern Carolina 4-H Livestock Show & Sale – 4-H youth raise goats, sheep, swine & steers developing animal husbandry & showmanship skills; train with our Livestock Agent locally.
County, District & State Achievement Day Presentations– 4-H Youth share their Favorite Topic developing Public Speaking Skills & Self Esteem
NC 4-H Horse Program Artistic Expression & Creative Writing Contests
NC 4-H Residential Camps – 6 days of traditional camping at one of NC 4-H Residential Camp Centers with our 4-H Agent.
AIRE (Application, Interview, Résumé, Electronic Video) – a workforce development & college preparatory program for career readiness.
NC 4-H Congress recognizes outstanding 4-H’ers from all NC counties, providing interactive citizenship & leadership workshops. NC 4-H Youth commemorate officer service with a unique candlelight service & celebrate with a banquet & dance.
NC State Poultry Summer Science Institute – 5 days of hands-on workshop at NC State’s top poultry professors on campus
Halifax County 4-H Rural Life Summer Day Camps – 7 weeks of
Fun 4-H Hands-On Learning for ages 6-14.
4-H Avian Quiz Bowl & 4-H Poultry Judging Competition – train with our Livestock Agent locally, with opportunities to compete at the state level.
4-H Livestock Skillathon Clinic, ECJ Beef Education Unit –
