For Youth Ages 6 to 14! $55 per week!
Our summer day camps are for youth ages 6-14. If your child has a summer birthday, you may register them for weeks of camp that take place after they turn 6.
Please note some weeks of camp have a field trip that includes an additional cost beyond the $55 registration fee.
HERO June 8-11: Hero Camp is an exciting and educational camp that celebrates the brave men and women who serve our community every day. From the Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department to EMS, Wildlife, and Forestry Services, campers will have the opportunity to meet local heroes, explore their equipment, and learn about the vital roles they play in keeping our community safe. Through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactive experiences, Hero Camp inspires appreciation, courage, and a spirit of service in every participant.
OLYMPIC June 15-19: Get ready to go for the gold at Olympic Camp! Campers will jump into a week of friendly competition packed with silly challenges, team relay races, Minute to Win It games, and classic field day favorites. This camp is all about teamwork, laughter, and trying new things — not intense sports skills — so youth of all abilities and interests will feel right at home. From wacky obstacle courses to fast-paced group games, every camper will have a chance to shine, cheer on teammates, and celebrate their victories. We’ll wrap up Olympic Camp with one last day of high-energy fun and friendly competition at Urban Air Trampoline Park, giving campers a chance to jump, play, and celebrate an awesome week together. Let the games begin!

SCIENCE June 22-26: Put on your lab coats and get ready to experiment at Science Camp! This hands-on camp is packed with exciting projects, messy experiments, and mind-blowing discoveries that make science come alive. Campers will mix, build, test, and explore as they dive into chemistry reactions, engineering challenges, and interactive STEM activities. Curiosity is encouraged, questions are celebrated, and a little mess just means we’re having fun. The week wraps up with an awesome trip to the Richmond Science Museum, where campers can explore even more incredible exhibits and real-world science in action. Get ready for a week full of discovery, creativity, and scientific fun!

ART July 6-10: Art Camp is a fun and colorful adventure where young artists can get creative and express themselves! Campers will explore exciting activities like painting, drawing, pottery, and tie-dye, making amazing projects to take home. With friendly instructors guiding the way, kids will have a blast trying new art styles, using their imagination, and making new friends. Whether they love to draw, sculpt, or get messy with colors, every camper will leave with awesome artwork and a big smile!
AROUND THE WORLD July 13-17: All Around the World Camp is an exciting journey where campers explore different countries and cultures without leaving camp! Each day, kids will "travel" to a new destination, discovering unique traditions, foods, games, music, and crafts from around the globe. Through fun activities, storytelling, and hands-on projects, campers will gain a greater appreciation for the world and its diverse cultures. As part of the adventure, campers will also take a special field trip to Sylvan Heights Bird Park, where they can see exotic birds from all over the world. Pack your imagination and get ready for an unforgettable adventure across continents at All Around the World Camp!
CHEF July 20-24: Chef Camp is a deliciously fun experience where young chefs can get hands-on in the kitchen! Campers will learn how to prepare tasty dishes, bake delicious treats, and decorate cupcakes like a pro. They’ll also explore the basics of nutrition, discovering how to make healthy choices while cooking. With exciting activities that combine cooking and STEM, kids will see how science plays a role in baking, like how ingredients work together to create yummy results. Whether they’re new to cooking or already a budding chef, every camper will leave with delicious creations and new culinary skills to share at home! We’ll finish off a delicious week of Chef Camp with a sweet field trip to Simply Natural Creamery, where campers can see how local dairy treats are made and enjoy a tasty farm-fresh experience.

AQUATIC July 27-31: Aquatic Camp is a splashing good time for kids who love water and adventure! Campers will enjoy swimming, water games, learning water safety skills, and even try their hand at canoeing on the water. They’ll also explore different water sports and get creative with water-based crafts. As part of the camp, campers will take a trip to the TJ Davis Rec Pool, where they can swim and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. We’ll wrap up an unforgettable week of camp with an exciting field trip to the Virginia Aquarium, where youth can explore amazing marine life up close. Dive into the fun at Aquatic Camp!

Step 1: Complete 4-HOnline Enrollment for the current year - Your Child Will Not Be Allowed to Attend Any Camp Without Current Enrollment Completed!
- Some of you have already created your 4-H'ers accounts; please make sure to update it by re-enrolling so your youths' status is active for the current year. For our families not yet enrolled in 4-HOnline, we have some helpful resources to assist you. This is a Requirement for your child to attend 4-H Rural Life Center Summer Day Camps.

Step 2: Register for camp and submit payment:
- Digital Option: Digital registration may be made through EventBrite. Descriptions for each camp can be found under the ticket for each camp. Payments made through Eventbrite require an additional service fee of $5.54 per camp per youth for this digital option and only accept debit and credit card payments (no check payment accepted).
- Pay by Check-Traditional Option: Mail payment with 1 1/2 page camper application form to PO Box 37, Halifax, NC 27839 or drop off payment and camper application to the Cooperative Extension office at 359 Ferrell Lane, Halifax, NC 27839. (Checks and Money Orders are made Payable to "Halifax County"). Mail or drop off our Camper Application Form to PO Box 37, Halifax, NC 27839. Our hours are Monday -Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. (If you are paying by check or money order, you can include this payment with the mailed Camper Application.) Legible scans of the completed Camper Application can also be emailed to cheryl_tripp@ncsu.edu. Camper spots are not held unless payment is received within 10 business days of registration. After ten days, your child's spot will be forfeited.
- Registration Deadline: Registration for each week of camp closes at 5:00 PM on the Thursday prior to that camp week. Children who are not registered by this deadline will not be permitted to attend. Registration will not be accepted once the camp week has begun. No Exceptions Will Be Made.
2026 Camp Scholarships
We will be offering a limited number of scholarships to cover a week of camp. If you are interested in a scholarship opportunity click the link below. Applying does not guarantee a scholarship will be awarded. The 2026 Camp Scholarship Application will be open March 9-May 1. Award decisions will be emailed on May 18. To be considered for a scholarship your child MUST be enrolled and approved in 4-HOnline. If awarded a scholarship, a paper application for the camp you choose MUST be turned in by June 1 or you forfeit your scholarship.
2026 Camp Transportation
Do you need transportation to camp? Indicate that on your EventBrite registration and you will receive an email before your camp(s) with exact pick-up times and locations.
