Get into the spooky spirit with 4-H at our Spooky Circuits STEM Night! Kids will explore the basics of electricity and circuits in a fun, hands-on way by creating their very own light-up haunted houses. From eerie glowing windows to spooky shining doors, participants will bring their haunted creations to life while learning important STEM skills. This program is perfect for curious kids who love to build, create, and experiment—no tricks, just treats and glowing fun! We can’t wait to see youth ages 7-12 on October 21st at the Roanoke Rapids Public Library from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.! Click the Eventbrite Sign-Up Link to register!

Join us on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. for Harvest Days! The public is invited to the 4-H Rural Life Center to celebrate the history and agriculture of Halifax County while enjoying a full day of fall festival family fun. Explore local traditions, shop with vendors, savor delicious eats from food trucks, and enjoy live entertainment—all in a festive autumn setting!

Livestock Orientation and Interest Meeting
Come join us October 6th to learn more about the Eastern Carolina Livestock Show and Sale, including how youth can get started in raising and showing animals. New families will discover what’s involved in the project, while returning participants will attend an orientation to prepare for the upcoming season. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet other participants, and take the first step toward an exciting livestock project experience! Dinner will be provided at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at one of the locations listed above!
 Turkey Trot Trail Pace 4-H Fundraiser
Turkey Trot Trail Pace 4-H Fundraiser 
The Turkey Trot Trail Pace is a festive twist on a traditional trail ride. Riders will follow a marked course through beautiful scenery, aiming to finish as close as possible to the “secret optimum time” set by the organizers. It’s not about speed – it’s about steady pacing, good horsemanship, and enjoying the ride with friends.
When: November 22, 2025 @ 9 a.m.
 Where: The Trails at Spruce Creek
 Why: All proceeds benefit Halifax County 4-H programs!
Prizes will be awarded for the riders or teams closest to the ideal pace. Whether you trot, pace, or just enjoy a fall ride, this event is a perfect way to celebrate the season and support 4-H!

Egg-cellent News from Halifax County 4-H!
Halifax County 4-H members recently showcased their skills in the 4-H Egg-cellent Egg Contest, where youth are judged on the quality and characteristics of their farm-fresh eggs. Congratulations to our winners:
- Junior Division: Wyatt Iles – 1st place in Blue/Green Small/Medium Egg category
- Intermediate Division: Bentley Iles –1st & 2nd place in Brown Large/XL/Jumbo Egg category
- Senior Division: Cameron Byrd – 2nd place in Brown Peewee/Small/Medium category & 2nd place in Brown Large/XL/Jumbo category
We are so proud of these 4-H’ers for their hard work and dedication to poultry projects!
