Paraquat Training

New labeling of herbicides containing the active ingredient paraquat dichloride requires that any person, prior to using these products, must be a licensed or certified NCDA&CS pesticide applicator and must successfully complete the online or in-person paraquat training. An applicator can no longer apply paraquat under the supervision of someone else’s license. Paraquat training is not required to purchase paraquat products but is mandatory for all paraquat use activities. “Use” includes: mixing and loading the pesticide; applying the pesticide; and, transporting or storing opened pesticide containers, cleaning equipment, and disposing of excess pesticides, pesticide containers, and other paraquat-containing materials. Non-certified persons working under the supervision of a certified applicator are prohibited from using paraquat including any of the “use” activities mentioned above.

To get the training you can either do it online at http://www.usparaquattraining.com/

We are also going to have an In-Person Session on March 16th at 9AM in the Ag Auditorium. Registration link will be posted here soon.

This training is required every three years. A training was held 2 years ago and most people will need the training again in 2023.
