The Halifax County Cattlemen’s Association (HCCA) has opened applications for its 2026 Scholarship Program, designed to support students from Halifax County or those attending high schools within the county who are pursuing degrees in agricultural-related majors. While the program is open to various agricultural fields, priority is given to applicants focusing on Animal Production.
The HCCA Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to dedicated students who demonstrate a commitment to the agricultural industry.
- Award Amount: Selected recipients will receive a minimum of $500 for the academic year of application.
- Educational Level: Scholarships are available to high school seniors attending a Halifax County school with plans to attend an accredited college, community college, or technical institute, as well as students currently enrolled in college.
- Renewability: Past applicants are eligible to re-apply for up to four years, provided they maintain continuous enrollment in an agriculture-based program and meet minimum 2.5 GPA requirement.
- Membership Requirement: All applicants must be or become current student members of the NC Cattlemen’s Association which can be obtained online at nccattle.com
To be considered for the award, candidates must submit a completed application form along with several supporting documents:
- Statement of Goals: A one-page document outlining future goals and the reasons the applicant should be considered for the scholarship
- Resume: A detailed summary of agricultural involvement, including university organizations, clubs, work positions, high school achievements, and community activities such as 4-H or volunteerism
- Membership Verification: Proof of 2026 NC Cattlemen’s membership
